A month of hard work and then some,
That’s how the month of May went by,
Some work got delayed,
so something else could be finished.
There was stress, but
one who takes care of themselves
will find ways to beat the heat,
without beating the self.
Morning pages filled,
sometimes in google docs,
sometimes in my journal
I was grateful for this art of writing
that clears the clogs
the mind stumble upon, time and again.
Friends and family, matter to me dearly,
Always grateful that I don’t give up on
relationships that easily.
Reading, though slowed down,
Audio books came to the rescue and thus,
Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic and The Magic of Tidying up by Marie Kondo
took a place among my listened books,
time spent was never wasted when it’s on reading
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, the book that
I read after completing my exam
Oh, what a read that was!
The exam I appeared,
the hard-work paid off,
as I add a certification to my resume.
Nothing is Impossible,
if I have the determination that is,
such was my experience always.
Multiple projects are in my way,
and I thank god for that.
Deep breath and I forgive myself
for the mistakes I made
The tasks that failed,
and with gratitude I send
a prayer for all that’s went well
Perfect is an illusion
which only deters my confidence
hence I make do with what I’ve
to accomplish what I can.
Thus, here I am
with a load of thanks
for a month that made me happy
with all these little joys.
These verses are inspired by Vidya’s Gratitude Circle for May.
That’s great about the certification and glad to hear May was a good month for you. I haven’t been able to get into audiobooks . Big Magic is good. Morning pages are something I should try but I haven’t. I love this way of looking back at the month. Hope your month ahead is awesome!
How wonderful to achieve a certification in the midst of being a mom and all that. You must be feeling tremendously thrilled and fulfilled.Hope June is equally fulfilling for you
Perfection truly is an illusion. So sorry you had health issues, but very impressed that you still pushed through and a got a certification in spite of it all!
There is so much honesty in your writing Vinitha that makes you so endearing 🙂
Congrats on that certification! You are doing an excellent job as a mother and everything else.
Well said, perfection is an illusion. All the best for your new projects Vinitha.
