Personal Random Random Thoughts

The week that went by..

Hope you all had a good week, better than mine at least, because I had a very bad week. I wasn’t well for the most part, still not completely well but getting better. My husband was travelling for couple of days during the week which added to the discomforts though he took care of everything he could. On Thursday morning we had major trouble getting bus to my son’s school, finally we had to take a taxi to the school after waiting for almost 45 minutes in the cold weather outside, the result of which clogged my sinuses and got me down under the weather again. And from yesterday morning my fever increased and got earache too. We were calling the doctor’s office but it wasn’t getting through. We stopped by the clinic today but looks like they changed the hours only recently, anyways it isn’t working on Sunday from now on. So yeah, it isn’t surprising if I feel that the universe is conspiring against me!

I couldn’t write last week at all. I wanted to write a post on Thanksgiving but … It was our 10 years of togetherness on last week, I planned to writing about it but couldn’t do anything special.

But, in all fairness I should not forget the good things that happened too, right? Yes, there were good things. Now, no sickness, no troubles can bring down the joy of celebrating love. It was 10 years ago, during a busy day at our college, he first confessed his love for me. There is more to the story which I will tell later. I feel lucky to be alive and experience these days of my life.

Even though I was busy taking my kid to and back from school, my husband and kid let me take rest whenever they were around. Cooking took less priority last week. My husband did most of the cooking whenever he could. I am lucky that I am not married to one of those men who insists on being served with full meals regardless of the state of the better half.

Now, I am typing this post from my new laptop. My hubby dear presented this one, with love ;). Today after having our disappointed trip to the doctor’s office, we went to the Victorian Fair that was going on in the city. Even the sick me enjoyed the hustle and bustle after the hectic days. There were rides, food stalls, shopping stalls, and a lot more fun.

We missed the Thanksgiving weekend we used to celebrate with our friends in Phoenix. But no matter where we are, what our condition is, being with loved ones is a blessing and most grateful thing in life. I miss the life we used to have, sometimes feel sorry for that but I am grateful for the two souls which makes my life worthy to live every moment. The troubled times are there only to add more flavor to the good times, don’t you think so?

  1. The only one thing we were not happy about while being in UK was the state of medical facilities there. NHS is a sick mammoth itself. Have you tried taking steam? It will be helpful. And yes I would like to know your story, the sucker for romance that I am. Take care and get well soon.

    1. In USA, the health care system is so complicated that we have to wait for days and weeks to get an appointment. It is costly too there. I was under the assumption that here in UK it is good. But I was wrong. It wasn’t easy to get the appointment. Moreover, I didn’t like the approach of the nurse practitioner whom I got to see.

      1. I saw your post’ thumbnail on the Gratitude Circle right after I posted mine there. A very good initiative, isn’t it? Are you going to join next month too?
