Gratitude Joy!

One more day for January to say bye to us. No other month is welcomed with this importance. January comes with a new and fresh start to the same old life. At the end of this month, I realize it was just like any other month. Life went on as usual, the ups and downs doing their job fabulously as always.

I was sick again, with the usual back pain, an upset stomach, and a low energy level. As always I complained and felt bad. And as always I smiled at the little joys, the silver linings and the momentary spurts of happiness. You know, the joy of feeling grateful when you think that you are experiencing the lowest moment, that is a pure bliss!

This month I got the opportunity to write for a few websites. I started off my writing adventure at Parentous with this post. Also wrote a couple of articles for Smart Indian Women. As I write this there is another assignment which I am getting ready to start with. I am hoping to continue as a contributor.

I didn’t stick to the blogging schedule which I joyfully made at the beginning of this month for reasons varying from I am sick to I am lazy today to I will write after some time to the muse just vanished to … I am not thankful that I did a good job in procrastination but I am utterly grateful to my readers out there. I got a lot of messages and comments this month which is a nourishment for my writing muscles. Your feedback – short, long, constructive critiques – anything helps me in wanting to improve and in getting rid of the procrastinating gene out of me. Thank you to all those who take their time to be here.

It is not a great feeling to be sick but whenever I fall sick, I start appreciating the moments when I wasn’t sick, no matter how good or bad it was, because right now I am struggling to find a position to sit without hurting my back and I am thankful for the times when I could sit without so much struggle.

There are many more gratitude filled little moments I enjoy on a day. When Kanna told me regretfully that he still doesn’t know how to make tea for me when I was sick, his concern itself was heartwarming enough to make me smile. Our walk to school filled with a variety of conversations each day, Kanna’s caring teachers in the school, the sky adorning a different color attire every day as if just to entertain me, twinkling stars on a cloudless night sky, my blogger friends, a warm house, cozy bed, good food, tea, and many more of such little joys.

Of course, life is a mix of roses and thorns. But right now I am thankful for all the roses in my life.
