Weekly Gratitude – 30 #SoulfulSunday

It feels like it’s been a few weeks since I wrote my weekly gratitude, though I missed only last week. My weeks were eventful and memorable so much that I feel one weekly gratitude post isn’t enough to share everything. Last week, my kids started their new school year after the Summer holidays. As usual, I was nervous on the day school opened, thinking about all the things that could go wrong. Fortunately, everything went well. Every new school year, my main concern is how well my kids will get along with the new teacher and vice versa. If the […]

Weekly Gratitude – 24 #SoulfulSunday

Summer has shown its true colors in this corner of the world a little early this year. Arizona summers are famous for their excessive heat and dehydrating nature. But this year, June started with a full-on tormenting heat wave rather than letting us ease into the sweltering hot weather. Air conditioners working 24/7 without a break to keep us cool and the availability of water to replenish our parched body are a couple of things I am grateful for at this moment as we cannot imagine spending even a second without these two.  I had quite a few interesting conversations […]

Weekly Gratitude – 22 #SoulfulSunday

June is here already. The first half of 2022 is running its last leg. How was your year so far? My mind started forming these negative thoughts without my knowledge or permission and I felt a bit beaten down these past few weeks.  Over the years we all have accumulated certain beliefs and thoughts that unconsciously sneak into our present day. At times these sneaky thoughts succeed in flipping the whole day upside down, leaving us in a clueless state of confusion and chaos.  I was in this state of chaos and confusion for some time now. Maybe, it had […]

Weekly Gratitude -20 #SoulfulSunday

If only I were raised differently… If only I wasn’t taught these blind superstitions… If only I had been given a little more freedom to pursue my dream when I was young… Many times our thoughts fall into these “if onlys” and we blame our past for the way we are today. While I do agree that there is a direct relationship between the past and who we are today, that doesn’t have to determine who we are forever.  We can be whoever we want to be. While it must be difficult to undo certain beliefs that we had been […]

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” —William Arthur Ward Last week was a different one for me. My husband, who had been working from home since 2020 March, finally went to the office. The office was in Boston, a six-hour flight from Phoenix. So, on Monday morning he left for his office and came back home on Thursday night. It was an interesting week with this different routine.  Before the pandemic changed the way things were, I was used to staying at home when the husband and the […]

Weekly Gratitude – 17 #SoulfulSunday

As each day disappears into the night I feel incredibly grateful for making it through.  I started to type my gratitude for the week and I couldn’t put anything that had transpired in the week in eloquent words.  Because there was nothing spectacular or remotely excitable happened that I could share on this page. I found myself struggling to put a twist on the mundane things that had happened or even to say that I survived the week with my back pain constantly following me around. To be honest, it’s a big win – we ate well, we shared laughter, […]

WEEKLY GRATITUDE – 16 #SoulfulSunday

“I have learned that even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one.” -Maya Angelou So much had happened in the last two-three weeks that I feel like a year had passed already.  It all started with the little one falling sick with a high temperature that lasted for a week. He was sad to miss his friends at school and wanted to talk to his teacher. When I conveyed this to his teacher, she called me over the phone to talk to my boy with her whole class and they all wished him well. That simple gesture […]

“I am infinite.” Something that I never thought of before – I am INFINITE. “It’s a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things that you lack.”  -Germany Kent When Filza Chaudary, an amazing poet and writer I had the fortune to acquaint with on Medium, left this beautiful comment on my prose poem ‘Lies’, it opened new avenues of musings for me.  I am infinite. Isn’t that the truth? As we move with the Universe accepting the blessings and conspiracies that it […]

Weekly Gratitude – 12 #SoulfulSunday

Hello there! Welcome to my weekly gratitudes. It’s been a week already. Before I begin, let me ask you – how was your week? I hope there were a few moments that made you pause and sent a prayer of gratitude to the universe.  The week that went by was an okay, one for me. Sort of. By mid-week, I suffered from extreme exhaustion and had to slow down a great deal. Thankfully, I was able to take it easy and gradually regain my energy back.  I didn’t write last week as I wanted to. Somehow time slipped away and […]

Weekly Gratitude -11 #SoulfulSunday

Some days I wake up with a certain sense of calmness in my mind. I love those days. Though I haven’t figured out a pattern between these calm mind days and chaotic mind days, I think it has to do with how I go to sleep.  When I write in my journal and come to an agreement within myself that I am doing okay regardless of the wasted times during the day, when I write down my gratitude for the day before hitting the bed, when I highlight the wins of the day as small as cooking a meal in […]
