Lately, I am coming across a lot of happiness related reads. It’s silly how all we want to be is happy and end up not happy for the most part of our life. That’s because we connect happiness with success and wealth more often than not. Wherein reality any rate of success and wealth cannot guarantee our mind’s happiness. But then, you and I already knew this, right? Afterall, we are intelligent people. We know that happiness lies in the simpler things. Little moments of joy, aren’t they? After reading Naba’s 21 smaller ways to be happier a couple of weeks ago […]

What’s my favorite? #MondayMusings #mg
Kanna was always full of questions. What? Why? How? Where? I have heard them over and over in different forms and textures in these past eight years. I’m sure you will agree with me if you have spent some time with kids, that their incessant questions are thought-provoking, brain stimulating and more often than not answer stumbling. Kanna’s recent entertainment is to ask his dad and I questions about him. He calls it ‘what’s my favorite?‘. Let’s play ‘What’s My Favorite?’ The questions vary from simple to complicated. He does add to this as and when he likes. So here goes his […]
International Blog Delurking Week 2018
Hello, my dear readers! Do you know that January 12 -18 is International Blog Delurking week? I saw a lot of bloggers on my timeline sharing posts on this topic and sure enough, I was lurking around without even mumbling a word. Such was the week that has gone by. Coming days also I sense more chaos and work waiting for me. Coming to the International Blog Delurking, the idea is to keep aside the buy schedule and say a word or two to show support to the blogger. Isn’t it nice to say hi and let know that you […]
My happy place #MondayMusings
For some, the sea is the soothing place to be. For some, it is the rain or the river. For me, it is the sky that calms me down. It always had been. My happy place I would call it. Doesn’t matter the state of my mind. When I stand on the terrace looking at the sky, listening to the birds chirping, feeling the gentle breeze, figuring out the notes that clouds leave up there for me, I’m calm. It is the most soothing sensation for me. My happy place, for it instantly takes me away from the chaos my mind resides […]
A Blogging Challenge and the lessons learned
Last week I participated in the Festival Of Words hosted by Write Tribe. It was a week long blogging challenge where we blogged daily on the given prompts for each day. I signed up my other blog, Void Thoughts, and to my surprise, I pushed my limits and completed the challenge. There was so much going on at home with the shift to the new apartment right when the FOW started, and with Kanna’s school reopen after the summer holidays on Monday, and with a ten-month-old who has learned to walk which translates to running into walls and tables. Plus, […]
Let it out! #MondayMusings
Yesterday I watched the Hindi movie, Dear Zindagi. I liked it. There was a scene when the actress cried profusely while talking to her therapist about a traumatic incident from her childhood. The doctor encourages her to cry saying that, “if you won’t cry wholeheartedly how can you laugh wholeheartedly. It made perfect sense to me. All we hear is don’t cry, wipe those tears, etc. Why should we hold back tears when we are sad? Shouldn’t we just let it out instead of suffocating those tears inside which in turn suffocates us? As for me, I don’t cry much in […]
A Question for You #MondayMusings
I have a question for you all. What kind of posts do you enjoy reading here? My personal rants? Stories about Kanna (perhaps the little one’s too in the future)? Gratitude posts? My philosophical posts heavy on the wisdom I hide in my head? Stories on my motherhood experiences? What makes you read me? Do you have any suggestions for me, to improve my writing, to add in the future posts, topics to write about or do you think I’m awesome as is? Why I’m asking is not just because I want to know how my readers like my posts […]
A messy affair! #MondayMusings #MicroblogMondays
I guess by now you are used to my frequent absences on this blog. Well, I am. Last five weeks I had the utmost delight to indulge in a date with a recent acquaintance of mine. I fondly call him by his full name, Pain in the Neck. Oh, what an eventful row of weeks had followed since he decided to drop by! You have no idea, my dears. We had a brief meet at first, exchanging pleasantries, after which I thought that we parted ways for good. A couple of hours later I found out that he never left. He made […]
Year in Review #MondayMusings #MicroblogMondays
Five more days and 2016 will stay in the pages of memory. Before the New Year eve arrives, we have another celebration, that is Kanna’s 7th birthday. December is a month of joy for us with our anniversary, Christmas and Kanna’s birthday, and of course, the wait for the New Year! December is a month of joy and celebration and hope. 2016 was obviously a roller coaster ride for us filled with some joyful moments, and some low moments. January saw my promises to write more consistently. I had plans, galore of them. But then between my pregnancy and nausea, […]
This thing called Life!
Life is a funny business, isn’t it? So long as we are not faced with any obstacles, we fail to realize how truly blessed and happy we were. If till then all we could see was what was lacking in our lives, once it turns upside down, we tend to think how good it was before. Appreciation pours in for what had lost and we would see how silly it was to yearn for what wasn’t there. The problems we face make us strong, of course. But where do we draw this energy to deal with the problems? I believe that […]
