..makes you stronger.
This song was playing on the radio while I was driving today morning. This line “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” was stuck in my mind. While it was inspiring to listen to the song, I kept thinking if it was really true.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Or does it suck the soul out of you, leaving behind an empty shell, which would only imitate the qualities of a stronger mind, but in fact is torn inside out.
What if that which doesn’t kill only teaches you to hide your scars better, but not acceptance and not how to show them off without feeling broken all over again?
What if that which doesn’t kill us, in fact does kill us, our essence, our being, but the rest of the world is never aware of it?
What if strength is just a means we use to hold ourselves up when we feel all but weak?
What if we don’t want to become strong, instead a relief from the threat of being killed?
What do you think? Does it always help in getting stronger? Complete the sentence for me, “What doesn’t kill you, ______”
