Hello everyone! Welcome to the first Fiction Monday of 2021 which is our twenty-seventh edition so far.
Isn’t it exciting to welcome the new year and explore the very first week? I am excited. A new year gives me the same thrill as I open a new notebook.
“One day, you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.”
~ Paulo Coelho
That’s an excellent quote, isn’t it? We need to stop waiting for tomorrow and start doing now. Forget about getting it perfect, forget about failing, forget about criticism – just do it. Make your mistakes today, so that tomorrow or day after you will end up creating your masterpiece. Don’t let a few obstacles scare you away. Keep trying, keep failing, keep creating.
I know it is easier said than done. But I believe I am actually following my own advice. In fact, I’ve been following this very path since a couple of years now. Otherwise, why would I blog on different platforms, put up prompts every week, start a YouTube channel – when I see that not many people follow me or respond to my posts. I have make my mistakes now to keep moving forward so that one day I might create that masterpiece.
What are your thoughts?

Fiction Monday
The idea is simple – to write fiction. On Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have one week to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours.
The expected word count is between 50 and 500. From the nineteenth edition onwards I am offering something different for fiction Monday. You are also welcome to offer your poetry and non-fiction musings along with fictional pieces if that’s your preferred area. The whole idea is to write. But we will continue to call this #FictionMonday because why not!
You have time till January 9th Saturday, 2021.
Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. I will share your creations here along with the prompts for the twenty-eighth edition on Monday the 11th of January.

Smart, Coelho! We have to wake up with the idea, every morning…! Usually our autopilot is in charge, so we have to say
goodbye to our laziness! 🙂
Thank you, Vinitha! Wishing you a fine weekend!
Oh, it’s so hard to say goodbye to laziness on a cold winter morning. I admire you for showing up every week, Suzana. Thank you so much! 🙂
