Hello writers! Welcome to the thirty-fourth edition of Fiction Monday.
“Winning doesn’t always mean being first. Winning means you’re doing better than you’ve
done before.”~ Bonnie Blair
Focusing on small wins will help us move forward. It matters that we are moving forward however small that progress is.
My word of 2021 is PROGRESS. And my intention is to keep reminding me that every step big or small matters. It matters that we are taking steps to help ourselves. That’s the greatest win ever in my book.
What do you think?
Stories From The Thirty-third Edition
It’s everything about choices by Suzana
Thank you for sharing your story, Suzana.
Fiction Monday
The idea is simple – to write fiction. On Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have one week to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours.
The expected word count is between 50 and 500. From the nineteenth edition onwards I am offering something different for fiction Monday. You are also welcome to offer your poetry and non-fiction musings along with fictional pieces if that’s your preferred area. The whole idea is to write. But we will continue to call this as #FictionMonday because why not!
You have time till February 27th Saturday, 2021.
Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. I will share your creations here along with the prompts for the thirty-fifth edition on Monday the 1st of March.
Word Prompt– PROMISE

Waiting to read your stories. 🙂

Oh I love that quote. Yes, it’s always about bettering ourselves, not competing with others.
Happy to add my story here, Vinitha. Well, yes, finally, I did manage to write and exceed the word limit too. :))

I like the checklist image. It looks to me the person is having second thougths about the tick mark in the Yes box. Maybe she is going to strike another line and make it a cross Then she will crunch the paper in a ball and throw it to the wall opposite to where she is sitting. But that wall is made up of straw so that crunched up paper ball will cause it to fall flat on the ground which is 5 floors below and a storm is brewing outside sucking her out of her flat.
Okay, I am crazy 😀
my word for the year is change 🙂
sounds like a fun imitative on the fiction Monday series

I think that there are a lot of false ideas. If every day we become a better version of us than yesterday we are winners!
Have a nice Sunday, Vinitha! Thank you for the game!
