Hello writers! Welcome to the thirty-sixth edition of Fiction Monday.
If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.
– Martin Luther King Jr
Sometimes I wonder what is the point of this blog hop! If I didn’t put up the prompt a week, nobody will miss it. In the beginning there were a few regulars along with some new joiners. Since the new year began all enthusiasm waned away. Even I fail to write a response to the prompt every week.
Then why am I doing this every week?
Well, I got to keep moving forward. I started this not for others, it was for my sake. I can’t give up on me now, can I? And that occasional adrift writer might enjoy this road for a bit, who knows!

Fiction Monday
The idea is simple – to write fiction. On Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have one week to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours.
The expected word count is between 50 and 500. From the nineteenth edition onwards I am offering something different for fiction Monday. You are also welcome to offer your poetry and non-fiction musings along with fictional pieces if that’s your preferred area. The whole idea is to write. But we will continue to call this as #FictionMonday because why not!
You have time till March 13th Saturday, 2021.
Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. I will share your creations here along with the prompts for the thirty-seventh edition on Monday the 15th of March.

I am so sorry I have been so irregular here, Vinitha! 🙁
Will try and write from now on.
Love and hugs! I like your steadfastness.
Somedays I feel this way about the Monday Musings too, Vini. I guess every one has different commitments. And really it’s up to us to take a call if something is working for us or not. We can do without the pressure. Somedays it’s all about crawling, isn’t it? Hugs!
I am guilty of not being regular here Vini though I absolutely love writing flash fiction and had made a promise this year to write ateast 3 weeks in a month. But I am so glad to see your persistence and will endeavour to be more regular. Dont stop what you are doing girl
Here is my post https://akswrites.com/2021/03/13/date-night-fictionmonday/
I had a blog hop for book reviews for the last two months. I didn’t put one up this month. Mostly because I was taking a break from everything. But I think I will not continue with it. Or should I ? I am still considering it. I guess I too was doing it to motivate myself to review at least one book a month. 🙂
I always feel guilty when I read your posts. I haven’t been able to write any Fiction since Feb. At the same time, your posts motivates me to start writing again. Keep posting prompts! I look forward to them.

Each day we have to go forward with what we love doing! If not, I think we’ll be surrounded by sadness…
Thank you, Vinitha for this new edition of your game!
A fine week ahead!
