Hello writers! Welcome to the fortieth edition of Fiction Monday.
This has been a busy week at my end as we shifted home. From the last two weeks things were hectic what with the packing and everything. Now it is all about unpacking and getting settled. Hopefully in another two weeks things will gradually get into a routine.
Moving is tiring and exciting at the same time. I miss the old surroundings. At the same time I am excited to explore the new area.
Accepting the changes in our surroundings is critical, isn’t it? That feeling of familiarity when lost makes our life difficult. I think so. Maybe, that’s why often we are addicted to the fragrance of memories! What do you think?
So tell me, how have you been?

Thank you, Suzana and Akshata for these wonderful tales!
Fiction Monday
The idea is simple – to write fiction. On Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have one week to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours.
The expected word count is between 50 and 500. From the nineteenth edition onwards I am offering something different for fiction Monday. You are also welcome to write your poetry and non-fiction musings along with fictional pieces if that’s your preferred area. The whole idea is to write. But we will continue to call this as #FictionMonday because why not!
You have time till April 10th Saturday, 2021.
Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. I will share your creations here along with the prompts for the forty-first edition on Monday the 12th of April.

That’s a nice prompt, full of possibilities. No promises… But maybe.
I started to say, “couldn’t it have been an ‘E’ word?” but then, she said, “I’m an ‘E’ word.”
That’s a beautiful picture! Moving houses can be stressful yet refreshing. Hope you make the most of it!
Interesting prompt, this week, again, Vinitha.
For now, here’s my attempt to spin a flash fiction…

Moving can be quite tiring and stressful! Don’t forget to rest a while, too, once you’ve unpacked!
Moving is a big trigger of wonderful memories and comfort. Hope you get a lovely Spring and Summer to explore your new place Vinitha. ♥️
Didn’t realize you were moving, Vini. Within the same city?
That picture is a fantastic prompt.

My enter for this week prompt.
Good luck and success for what you have to do and exploring new places!
A fine week ahead, dear Vinitha!
Thanks for your posts. I have taken a long, long break from not just from writing but also from reading any of the blog posts. But I always knew that it would be Fiction Monday which would make me want to write again. I did write on this prompt but then realised it was too late to send.
Please don’t worry about it, Sunita. Would love to read your story. Time is just for a reference.
I am so glad to know that you wrote for last week’s prompt. If you have published in your blog, I will definitely visit and read the post. 🙂 Thank you so much for letting me know, Sunita. 🙂
