Creative Writing

Fiction Monday – 58

Welcome to the fifty-eighth edition of Fiction Monday!

“Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate, and to humble.”

-Yehuda Berg

Words come with no disclaimer, but we must use them with caution. They can convey not only emotions and thoughts, but improper use of words can cause a lot of harm too. We, human beings, are lucky creatures being able to use words with ease, aren’t we. May we be able to choose more kind words in our day-to-day life!

Last week there were no entries for Fiction Monday. It seems words abandoned all of us. I hope this week our creative energy works better and that we will be able to find a flow of words filling our blogs, notebooks, and journals.

Fiction Monday

The idea is simple – to write. On Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have one week to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours.

The expected word count is between 50 and 500. From the nineteenth edition onwards I am offering something different for fiction Monday. You are welcome to share poetry, non-fiction musings, or fictional pieces. The whole idea is to write. But we will continue to call this #FictionMonday, because why not!

You have time till August 14th, Saturday, 2021.

Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. I will share your creations here, along with the prompts for the fifty-ninth edition on Monday the 16th of August.
