Fiction Monday – 50

The fiftieth edition of Fiction Monday is here. Coincidentally, exactly a year ago I published the first edition of Fiction Monday on this blog.

Thank you for all the support you have given me throughout this year. I am thankful to the regular participants, the occasional companions, those who supported #FictionMonday by sharing, liking, and commenting, and every one of you who left behind an encouraging word to keep me move forward with this endeavor. Every Monday, I had a reason to open this blog and start typing.

I hope you will continue to visit, participate, and support Fiction Monday in the days to come.

Thank you so much, Akshata and Suzana.

Fiction Monday

The idea is simple – to write fiction. On Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have one week to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours.

The expected word count is between 50 and 500. From the nineteenth edition onwards I am offering something different for fiction Monday. You are also welcome to offer your poetry and non-fiction musings along with fictional pieces if that’s your preferred area. The whole idea is to write. But we will continue to call this #FictionMonday because why not!

You have time till June 19th, Saturday, 2021.

Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. I will share your creations here along with the prompts for the fifty-first edition on Monday the 21st of June.

  1. Congratulations, Vini, on the 50th edition of FM! I am really so proud of you for keeping at it despite the lack of participants (like me!). But, I am going to write from now on (fingers crossed), esp today since you have shared a pic with my fav animal!
Thanks a ton for this and wish you many more.

    1. Tell you what, that was my trick to get you to participate. ? Waiting to read your tale. ?

    1. I am happy to know that you like the prompts shared here. Do join in whenever your time permits, Shilpa. Always a pleasure to have you over. 🙂

  2. Congratulations on the fiftieth edition of #FictionmMonday, Vinitha! So happy and so proud of how you stuck on and continued with the blogging each week, come what may and shared such amazing and inviting prompts fir us to write! Such a shame that we’ve had to pass them up for n number of reasons that took us away from the joys of writing and sharing our stories with the readers. I did manage to write a few fiction pieces over the past year and now, looking back, feel really fortunate for having been able to do so.
I’d love to participate in this as regularly as possible. Heartiest congratulations, once again, Vinitha. Wishing #FictionMonday sees many more landmark editions ahead.
    All the best! 🙂
