Six years ago around this time, I attempted my first Five Sentence Fiction, which was the beginning of a fantastic journey to my blogging saga. Till then I had only attempted poems – poems that flew into my mind and transferred on to the paper. I never attempted to write stories before then.

Hence writing a fictional story in five sentences was not just challenging, it was a learning experience.
I am glad that I took the plunge and tried my hand at writing fiction. Because it opened a new segment of writing. It flexed my creative muscles, so to speak, and gave me the courage to come up with stories that otherwise wouldn’t have born. I like writing for prompts as it helps in improving my writing skills.
Keeping these points in mind I did start a Five Sentence Fiction prompt-based series in 2017. But as life got busier I stopped doing it.
This post is to announce the revival of prompt-based creative writing. Initially, I thought of restarting the FSF, but this time I’m not limiting it to just five sentences.
Welcome to Fiction Monday

The idea is simple – to write fiction. On alternate Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have two weeks to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours. You can also choose to write for one prompt the first week and the second prompt next week.
The word count should be between 50 and 250.
Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below.

Pick up your pen, craft your story, and share it in the comments. You have time till 28th Sunday, 2020.
This sounds like fun. Let me see if I can come up with something.
Looking forward to read your story, Tulika. I will share the new prompts tomorrow and you are welcome to join anytime. 🙂
