Creative Writing

My Writing Struggle #FictionMonday

This morning I opened the Google docs app with the intention of writing. Write something. Anything. Poem, story, essay, six word story, even a sentence will do.

As I wondered what to write, my mind went blank. All the ideas that bubbled in mind seemed irrelevant.

This has been the case for the past few months with me and my writing. But I manage to scribble down some words despite the strong discouragement my creative self goes through every day.

Then again, I find it difficult to share on my blog. How can I subject the few readers I have to my below average writing. So the writings that manage to appear on my screen after exhausting my mind to a great length stay in the folder on my screen just for my eyes.

This piece has nothing to do with the prompt word bubbles. But I decided that doesn’t matter. I am here thinking about writing something on bubbles and this is what appeared on my screen. And so, this is what will be published.

Writer’s block may come and go. But this writer can’t live in the hope that the block would someday disappear. I am taking matters in my own hand and writing even if my writing comes out subpar.

It’s time I show a bit of courage. Don’t you think so?

This cooked up piece is written in response to the one hundred and fifty second edition of Fiction Monday inspired by the word prompt – BUBBLE hosted at Reflections by yours truly. Do join in if you have a tale to tell.

  1. I know this feeling – to have a bunch of ideas but none that can form a decent enough piece. I have two dozen half baked pieces in my drafts and even more in my documents. I’m glad you went ahead and wrote this one. I hope your muse is back soon.

  2. I want to share with you an idea. When I am in front of the computer usualy I have less ideas,or even none, as when I drink my coffe in the morning. So the draft of my texts are from those moments, written in a hurry, just not to forget a sentences. Maybe it’s strange, but this is the truth.
May I ask you, how do you choose the words?

I wish you joy and inspiration, Vinitha! Hugs!????❤️

What do you think? Please share! :)
