Back in 2014 when I decided to take the veil off and blog actively something had changed within me. Or maybe, it was the aftermath of something that had changed that gave me permission to get out in the open and try out this new road called blogging.
That was the time when I came in touch with something called a blogging community. Till then this community was unknown to me.
That was the time I discovered what support from your blogging community meant. I am glad that I was there to experiment and unravel the various layers of blogging the way I did – that I didn’t shy away from making mistakes and learning from those mistakes again and again. Because had I not persisted, I would have never discovered the community and the benefits it offered.
That was the time we used to have lots of blogger award tags zooming in and out in this realm. It was with so much excitement and gratitude we used to accept and nominate these awards to each other. Slowly, the awards stopped as it became a repetitive affair.
So when recently Sunita who blogs at Mumbai on a High tagged me for Sunshine Blogger award, it evoked a strong nostalgia. It was so sweet of Sunita, a prolific blogger, to remember my blog among the sea of blogs out there. Thank you, Sunita for this wonderful gesture.

Here are my answers to Sunita’s questions:
- Do you like watching movies? Which is your favorite one? –
Yes, of course! I can't pick a favorite though as there are so many to choose from.
- Do you prefer dogs or cats? –
I like dogs more than cats, but I am afraid of dogs. :)
What do you do to de-stress? -
Journaling is my favorite de-stress activity.
What is your favorite way of traveling? Train? Bus? Car? Plane? Ship? -
Train and car, where I can just sit down and let my mind wander off without worrying about the bathroom situation. :D
Are you a fussy eater or an adventurous eater? -
It completely depends on my mood, sometimes I am a fussy eater, sometimes adventurous.
Can you stop at one chocolate or do you finish the whole box at one go? -
I CAN stop at one chocolate if I am certain that the rest is safe for my later indulgence.
Do you prefer long walks or a strenuous work-out at the gym? -
Long walk gets my vote, though I like working out at the gym, too.
Do you forgive easily? -
Ask for forgiveness and I will the next second. Otherwise, it's difficult for me to forgive. That's a new self-discovery.
Do you wear make-up and if so, what do you like? Lipstick? Eyeshadow?Mascara?Foundation?Concealer? -
No make-up for me, though I am trying to learn how to use those things. This is one area that my learning skills seem to be deceiving me. I like putting eyeliner on and some lip balm too.
Are you a meticulous planner or free spirit who likes to do things on the fly? -
I am a meticulous planner who is often forced to do things on a fly by this thing called life.
Are you scared of getting old? -
No, not at all.
Thank you, Sunita. I thoroughly enjoyed answering these questions after a long while. I am not nominating anyone as most of the bloggers in my circle are not doing awards anymore.

Hey fellow dog lover ? I love long walks too. Loved your answer to point 10. Isn’t life a party pooper ?
I am glad to know that we share some common interests other than blogging. 🙂 Thank you for visiting, Raj! 🙂
It’s so nice getting to know a little bit more about you through this Award post, Vini! 🙂
And, I love long walks, too! And, not much of makeup either…just a lipstick, but only when I am in the mood. Otherwise, just a lip balm. Same same! 😛
I think the ability to put on a flawless makeup is one art that I will never get better at, because I am never spending time on it, I’m so lazy when it comes to grooming me. 😀 I was always like that, my mom hated that nature of mine. 😀
😀
This is indeed nostalgic. We used to do so many of these.
Some of your answers could have been mine – the one on being a planner but not being able to execute the plans, the one on forgiveness. Oh and chocolates too – I need to know they’ll be safe :-).
Wow, that’s a lot of similarities, Tulika. I’m happy to know that. 🙂
It was nice getting to know the person behind the name!
Thanks Sunita. 🙂
I remember that phase in 2014 Vinitha. It was such a simple joy one derived from blogging. And here again you repeat it giving your readers an opportunity to know about you better. 🙂
Yeah, we used to do these awards a lot back then. It was so much fun. I liked doing this post now after such a long gap. 🙂
I remember the Sunshine Blogger Award from so many years ago. Enjoyed reading all your answers.
You must’ve seen a lot of Sunshine blogger awards and many other awards given that you have been blogging for quite a long time, Rachna. I wonder who came up with the idea of first blogger award. Thanks, Rachna. 🙂
What a time was that when a major part of blogging was accepting blogging awards and searching the online world for doing nominations. Answering the questions and framing more questions used to be such fun. I have to admit your answers did not unravel any of your secrets for me. Those answers could have been mine. I have looked up YouTube tutorials for doing make-up as well but those were difficult to follow. Long walks are also for me but I have severed my ties with the gym work-outs. You are afraid of dogs but still are a dog-lover! This is not an unknown combination for me. I think Dhruv and I also fall in this category in the way that we stay away from dogs of dog-walkers in the park.
We grew up together in this blogging world, right Anamika? We still are growing up together. 🙂 And you know me very well, I’m not a bit surprised by that. 😀 I know some others who fall in this particular category where loving dog is not a problem but getting over the fear is a very fearful problem. 🙂
I’m seeing a blogging award post after a long time! Brings back so many memories 🙂
Loved knowing more about you, Vinitha! But, you need not be afraid of dogs. They are the closest to God as they come <3
Yes, Soumya, I was surprised to see a nomination after a long long gap, hence decided to do this post.
I know, Soumya, that I don’t have to be afraid of dogs. But I’m born scared, even when we had a dog at home when we were kids I was afraid. Weirdly, I wasn’t afraid of cockroaches and was brave enough to puck them up and all. Getting over the fear of dogs is one of my goals. 🙂
It was so good to know you a little more. I’m a meticulous planner to and doing things on the fly makes me nervous. You just reminded me of a sweeter and better time of blogging. How much I miss it!
Definitely, those were simpler times with not many influencers in the blogger world. Glad to see you here, Naba. 🙂
It was good to know you a little more Vinitha. I am also clumsy with makeup stuff and trying to learn the usage of them.
I decided that I am never getting better at this art. ? Let me know how you fare, Balaka.
Ha, I remember the days we used to write posts like these. Always nice to get to know you more! 🙂 Cats are not too bad if they’re well socialised 😀
Sorry for responding so late to this post. I had starred it but it got lost in my huge pile of mail! Thanks for being a sport and answering these questions. They do reveal a lot about a person and by the end of such interactions one really gets to know a virtual friend!
