Recognitions

Thank you – Liebster Awards.

Monday I opened my eyes to see that I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by Shanx. Tuesday morning I found out that my article “The Working Delusions” got published in Women’s Web. On Wednesday I got nominated for the Liebster Award by Anamika.

I was already on cloud nine when I got nominated for the first Liebster Award because this is my first ever award. I am incredibly happy and lucky to experience all these joys together. A Big Thank you to Shanx and Anamika for nominating me. I am really honored.

Shanx blogs at Embark with my Thoughts and writes short stories. Once you read a story by Shanx you will go back there to read more. He is such a talented writer. Thank you Shanx for the nomination.

Anamika blogs about her parenting experiences at the bespectacled mother. As a parent I find her blog pretty interesting and useful. I’m fortunate to find such an amazing blogger friend. Thank you Anamika for nominating me.

I am including rules given by both Shanx and Anamika below.

The Rules: (from Shanx)

1. Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog.

2. Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.)

3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which will be provided to you by the person who nominated you.

4. Nominate 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!)

5. Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.

6. List these rules in your post. Once you have written and published it, you then have to:

7. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

Questions from Shanx.
1. One crazy serious moment that you laughed out loud at (a serious and dense atmosphere )
I was in 8th or 9th std. Our Hindi teacher was taking class while my friend sitting beside me started saying funny stuff about a particular part in the lesson. Somehow I managed not to get caught by the teacher while laughing away. Once the lesson is done the teacher asked me to read the text book including that particular part. Once I reached the point where my friend was making fun of I couldn’t hold back my laughter. I laughed out loud. Teacher asked the reason and I couldn’t reply anything. Got scolded, obviously.. 🙂
2. The most notorious thing you did in your school days (embarrassing will work too if you’re fine 😀
This happened during the beginning days of first year of engineering when ragging was still going on. Me and my friends were going back from college in the evening, right before we reached the gate one of my friend’s was called by a group of seniors. We waited and waited for her but she didn’t come back. So after sometime I tried to take a peek at them, and the seniors saw me looking at them. And they called me. They told that they asked my friend to sing a song and then she can leave but she is not singing. So if you both want to leave one of you must sing. My friend was adamant that she won’t sing. She told me you have to sing. After waiting for 5 more minutes I sang. And we left. On the way back my friend informed me that my singing wasn’t any good. Next time when this group of senior students caught me again they didn’t ask me to sing. That was one of the embarrassing instances.. 🙂
3. One movie/book/story that you really loved and the reason (doesn’t have to be romantic. If it’s horror then better)
The twilight. Though I didn’t like the whole series I liked the first one. Loving the vampire concept pretty much got my attention.
4. How many times or days/moments or did you live any, were you totally survived on your friends money and stuff (obviously looting it all away because it’s yours)
Zero 🙂
5. A place that’s not famous in your city but you would want to go there at any point of time because it’s your favorite (shouldn’t be famous I say)
My college where I got engineering degree from.
6. Which super hero fan were you in childhood and how did you try to imitate them?(ever tried rotating in circles like ShaktiMaan 😉 )
I liked He-man and Superman better than ShaktiMaan. Never had a craze for super heroes though.
7. What would you do if you had money like Uncle Scrooge (no, I am not giving it to you. You’ve to imagine it)
Do some travelling.. or start a college fund for my kid.. may be do something for the less fortune.. I don’t know. Good that I don’t have so much money. 🙂
8. Reason you love your blog
I have a place where I can express myself. When I blog I feel like I am talking to the audience and when I get comments I feel heard. The feeling heard sensation is wonderful.
9. A place if you were allowed to visit immediately. What would it be? (write the first one that comes to your mind in a second)
Kashmir.
10. What’s your favorite food that you can’t help but eat at anytime and wouldn’t mind going lengths just to taste it.
Fish curry, fish fry, anything fishy.. 🙂 Yes, I’m from Kerala. 🙂
11. Love Rain? Love reading? (write about one awesome crazy moment about rain and reading if no to rain. If you love rain and reading plus writing, we’re already friends then 😛 )
Of course we are friends Shanx. I love all of the above. When were in Phoenix we used to go for drive anytime and every time it rained. Phoenix is a place where rain visited very rarely. So driving when it rains is a family activity for me, my husband and our son. And once I drove when it was raining, the feeling was superb. Scary and wonderful, just like falling in love. 🙂
Finished with one set of questions. 🙂
Questions from Anamika.
1. What was your thought process behind choosing your blog name?
This blog was started as an effort to note down my experiences – both as a parent and as an individual. So in my head this blog would reflect my experiences and views. Hence the name. 🙂

Ha! You got me there Anamika.. I have so many favorite blogs. Sharmis Passions for  cooking. Rest you will find in my nominees list. 🙂

Sometimes solitude makes me happy. Sometimes I am happy when I’m done with the first task on my to-do list. Morning tea, afternoon coffee, coffee anytime makes me happy. Playing with my kid, watching anything on TV as a family or watching re-runs of Gilmore Girls all by myself – all these makes me happy. 🙂
7. Given a choice, which city would you like to live in and why?
Phoenix, Arizona. 🙂 That’s where I started my life as a wife, where we lived for past 6 years, where our son was born, where we learned to be there for each other in sickness and health, where we built a lot of memories, where we three feel as home. Would love to go back there..  🙂
