If we were having coffee together #SoulfulSunday

If we were having coffee together, I would tell you how truly blessed I feel because of you. Don’t dismiss it with a laugh; I genuinely mean it. Your presence here, listening to my rants, adds a little more brightness to my life. In fact, I believe our existence holds greater value than we often give it credit for.

Sure, there are billions of people in this world, and you and I are just two among those billions. However, that doesn’t diminish our significance in our own lives. To the people we love and those who love us, we matter, irrespective of the billions populating the earth. How beautiful is that?

One thing I’ve stopped doing these days is discounting myself and my thoughts. As I age, I find myself valuing my worth more than ever. When I tune in to my inner voice, I hear positive affirmations. Of course, worries may surface at times, but instead of letting them shape my story, my mind questions how to overcome them. This shift is helping me transform my inner narratives into better versions.

If we were having coffee together, I would share that despite concerns about the future, I don’t feel rushed. There’s no panic about time slipping away. Instead, a sense of calm envelops me for the most part. I’m striving to extend this calmness to all aspects of my life. The regrets, the blame games, the limitations—they surround me, but in this meditative state, they can’t reach me. They are just entities, much like myself. It feels liberating not to be hurried or harassed by internal and external chatter.

If we were having coffee together, I would emphasize how much I value this moment, perhaps more than I realize. This instant, I feel free, and I hope you are too. We aren’t caged birds; the shackles are imaginary. I trust that we possess the strength to see past them and spread our wings far and wide.

  1. Oh I love heart to heart coffee posts. I love what you said, that we all matter even if there are millions of people out there. I’m so glad to hear that you’re in a calm positive space. That’s something I’m still aspiring for.

  2. Thank you for your comment, Tulika. I don’t know what’s happening to all these comments. The emojis sometimes change into question marks for me. It’s all a mystery!

  3. I’m sipping on my coffee as I read this thoughtful post that got me pondering on how beautiful it is to realize the value of these moments spent with our loved ones. 🙂

  4. Oh, it’s been such a long time since I read a coffee post! I remember reading it first on Shilpa Garg’s blog and it got me hooked onto it.
I loved this post, Vinitha. It’s quite an achievement for us if we come to appreciate the calmness around us and make it a part of our lives, despite the chaos around. Valuing our worth, tuning out the negative voice and focusing on positive affirmations is like taking a leap towards acknowledging our self-worth, and giving self-love a priority it deserves.
